Vision & Ethos

The school has a long and illustrious history, dating back to 1636. Education at Calday is grounded in these traditions, but with a modern outlook. We aim to prepare our students for the challenges of the 21st century and strive to create the next generation of leaders. The school aspires to create articulate, confident, rounded citizens with enquiring minds who have a life-long love of learning. As an old Chinese proverb states, “Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere”.

At Calday Grange Grammar School we are clear about the achievement – academic and personal – we aim to foster in our students.

The school mission statement is demonstrated on a daily basis by promoting and celebrating personal and professional excellence, ambition, respect, pride, individual responsibility, potential, success and achievement.

Calday Values

Ambition

We seek to help students fulfil their ambitions by fostering a climate of high expectations and tailored support.

Respect

We ask that our school community respects the name of the school and the individuals within it. Respect is a value that permeates everything and underpins relationships between students and their peers and staff and students alike.

Pride

We encourage people to have pride in themselves and their individual achievements. Diversity is celebrated.
