At Calday, every student finds their place – whether in the classroom, on the stage, on the sports field, or in leadership roles.
It’s a place where friendships are built and where students feel proud to belong.

Mr Stephen Gray
It is my privilege to be the Headteacher of this warm and welcoming school. We strive for academic excellence, but our success is built upon strong pastoral care and developing the whole child. It would not be an exaggeration to state that Calday offers ‘more than an education’. We have a broad and balanced curriculum, complemented by a wide-ranging and diverse extra-curricular offer. We recognise the importance of the latter in the personal development of our students.
Visitors to the school site will witness a busy and positive environment, where students are encouraged to pursue their interests in whatever field that may be. We have served the area since 1636 and the school has a special place in the hearts of the local community. This gives us a real sense of tradition and pride in the role in which we have played in people’s lives. However, we do not look backwards, our core aim is to provide a modern education that equips our students with the attributes and skills to flourish in the modern world.
I hope that you share my enthusiasm for this amazing place when you visit and we look forward to welcoming you.
