Calday Grange Grammar School’s Careers Week 2025 provided students with hands-on experiences to develop their employability skills and explore future career options. With mock interviews, a record-breaking careers fair, and an exciting enterprise challenge, students from multiple year groups engaged in activities designed to prepare them for the world of work.
Year 10 Mock Interviews
Careers Week began with Year 10 students taking part in mock interviews with real employers. Before the event, students prepared CVs and application forms to simulate a real recruitment process. Each student sat for a 20–25-minute interview and received feedback on their performance, helping them refine their interview techniques and build confidence. Employers who volunteered their time made the experience as realistic and valuable as possible.

Careers Fair 2025
The centrepiece of the week was the annual Careers Fair—the largest in the school’s history. More than 60 businesses and organisations, including Airbus, The Law College, and Morecroft Solicitors, attended to offer students insights into a range of industries. For the first time, all students had the chance to visit the fair throughout the day, giving them the opportunity to speak with professionals and explore potential career paths.
Year 8 National Careers Challenge
Year 8 students tackled the National Enterprise Challenge, a business-focused task set by British Airways. Working in teams, students designed a new subsidiary airline, making strategic decisions on customer targeting, route planning, service quality, and sustainability. The challenge tested their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The winning team secured a place in the finals in London, where they will pitch their idea to British Airways executives.

Careers Week 2025 was a huge success, giving students real-world experiences that will help shape their future aspirations. A big thank you to all businesses, employers, and staff who contributed to making the week so impactful.
