On a hot and sunny Wednesday afternoon, the school proudly hosted Argentine visitors Colegio Newlands for a packed day of competitive sport and camaraderie. The visit saw two rugby fixtures and three hockey matches played across several venues, with pupils giving it their all in testing conditions.
The rugby matches were held at Caldy RFC, whose superb facilities and hospitality added to the occasion. Both sides played with intensity and spirit, and after the final whistles, players from both schools shared a well-earned meal together—generously provided by the hosts.
The hockey fixtures were supported by staff and pupils from WKGS and Birkenhead School. Matches were fast-paced and competitive, with all teams showing commitment and sportsmanship despite the heat.
Thanks go to everyone who made the day a success, including Colegio Newlands for being enthusiastic guests and worthy opponents, Caldy RFC for their excellent pitch conditions and post-match food, and WKGS and Birkenhead School for helping to make the hockey fixtures happen.
The day wasn’t just about the scores; it was a celebration of sport, friendship, and international connection. Pupils left tired but proud—and with new friendships formed across continents.
