Calday Grange Grammar School took centre stage at the Floral Pavilion on Tuesday, performing the classic tale of The Pied Piper of Hamelin to a packed audience of over 1,200 primary school children. The production combined drama, music and storytelling, captivating young audiences with a vibrant and engaging performance.

The students brought the well-known story to life, telling the tale of a town overrun by rats and the mysterious piper who promises to rid them—only for events to take an unexpected turn. With dynamic acting, expressive narration, and an atmospheric musical score, the production had the young audience hooked from start to finish.

Performing at a professional venue like the Floral Pavilion was a fantastic opportunity for the students. It allowed them to showcase their talent in front of a large crowd while inspiring the next generation of performers. For many primary school children in attendance, it was their first experience of live theatre, making the event even more special.

A huge amount of work went into the production, from rehearsals to technical preparations. The students delivered an outstanding performance, demonstrating confidence, creativity and teamwork. Teachers and staff praised their hard work and dedication, as well as the enthusiasm of the primary school children who watched.

Well done to everyone involved in making the show such a success.
