Exciting news from the Combined Cadet Force (CCF)! This past Sunday, our school’s CCF Royal Air Force section achieved a remarkable feat, securing second place in the prestigious Royal Air Squadron Trophy (RAST) regional competition at CTC Inskip. Competing against the top CCF RAF sections from Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Northern England, our team displayed exceptional skill and dedication.
This significant accomplishment means we’re now set to compete in the national RAST competition, where CCF(RAF) sections from across the country will vie for the coveted trophy. The national stage is set at RAF Halton next year, and we’re thrilled to be part of this prestigious event.
The competition was a comprehensive test of various skills integral to the RAF. Our team showcased their proficiency in multiple areas:
- Drill Sequence: Demonstrating impeccable coordination and discipline, our team secured 3rd place.
- Uniform Inspection: Our cadets’ attention to detail earned us 4th place, highlighting their commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Command Tasks: Illustrating strong leadership and teamwork, the team impressively finished in 2nd place.
- First Aid Scenarios: Facing challenging situations, our cadets showcased their critical medical skills and placed 5th.
- Shooting Competition: With steady hands and focused minds, the team achieved 5th place.
- Aircraft Recognition: Our cadets’ keen eyes and extensive knowledge led to a 4th place finish.
- RAF Service Knowledge Test: Demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the RAF, the team earned an impressive 2nd place.
Competing against 11 other formidable teams, our cadets’ achievements in each category are a testament to their hard work, discipline, and passion for the RAF. These results not only reflect their individual dedication but also signify the strength of our CCF program in nurturing young talents.
As we prepare for the national competition at RAF Halton, we carry with us the pride and support of our school community. This achievement isn’t just a win for our CCF section; it’s a triumph for our entire school. Let’s rally behind our cadets as they continue to aim high and represent us on the national stage.
