Liverpool poet Joseph Roberts visited Calday Grange Grammar School on Friday to deliver a talk and run a spoken word workshop with students.
Roberts, 21, began his poetry career performing in a school assembly at sixteen. Since then, he’s built a growing audience online and appeared on BBC Radio Merseyside and BT Sport.
At Calday, he spoke about his journey into writing, the power of spoken word, and how students can use creative expression to explore issues that matter to them. His workshop encouraged pupils to write and perform their own pieces, focusing on authenticity and confidence.
Roberts said he aims to motivate young people and strengthen communities through poetry. He’s currently open for bookings, including workshops, commissions and event performances.
